Doug provides consulting services to industry and academia seeking to market emerging technologies to the US Government for the purpose of attracting non-dilutive financing during research and development, identifying acquisition opportunities where mission needs exist and effecting regulatory and policy change to increase market opportunities. Mr. Freitag established Bayside Materials Technology (BMT) in 1993 after a successful career in various management and engineering roles while employed by Lockheed Martin, Honeywell, and Ford Motor Company. Through this experience he has developed, and continues to maintain, an awareness of the priorities, needs and interests of the US government and industry, the processes used for creating and executing US government programs, and the decision makers responsible for creating and acquiring new capabilities. Principal customers in the US Government include DoD, DOE, DHS, DHHS, DOC, DOS, NASA, DOJ, DOT, and NSF. Mr. Freitag has a technical background with a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He has published and presented over seventy papers in advanced technologies and their commercialization, issued several patents, organized and chaired numerous technical sessions at national meetings, and participated in various government panels. He currently serves as the Technical Director for the US Advanced Ceramics Association and holds a Secret level DOD clearance.
